Bastia & Cap Corse

Bastia is not a resort town: it lives all year round. The Vieux-Port, the Citadel, the market square and the Genoese buildings of the old town offer apartments of a kind rarely found elsewhere — high ceilings, wrought-iron balconies, views over the harbour or towards the Tuscan islands.

The finest addresses lie in the triangle between the Vieux-Port and place Saint-Nicolas, and on the upper floors of Terra Vecchia and Terra Nova.

Erbalunga, Sisco, Pietracorbara, Macinaggio, Centuri, Nonza: every village on the Cap has its own character. The east coast remains sheltered and inhabited, the west coast is steeper and wilder.

You will find maisons d'Américains — houses built in the nineteenth century by Cap Corse families returned from the Americas — schist village houses and, more rarely, isolated properties with direct access to the sea.
